What to Expect:
Our routes are made for intermediate riders.
The mild off-road sections are simply unpaved roads where cars can easily drive.
Rides are at a relaxed pace and our guides are very patient with everyone.
We calculate 5 hours of actual driving time per day but with stops for pictures, breaks and lunch, each day is a full 8 hours of being out and about.
There is always plenty of time to explore the towns and have a nice relaxing meal after we arrive.

RIDE DESCRIPTION
Make a quick trip north from Medellin to Santa Fe de Antioquia, for a day in a town that is seemingly frozen in time. The whole of the town was declared a National Monument in 1960 and remains nearly unchanged since its inception. Walk the cobbled streets and imagine yourself an early settler in this picturesque north Colombian locale.
The One-Day Tour to Santa Fe de Antioquia is only a short ride from Medellin, clocking in at 1.5 hours and about 120 km roundtrip. This provides plenty of time to enjoy the town and the surroundings without any time pressure. Though the ride is short, this tour is big on history and offers magnificent photography!
Upon arriving in Santa Fe, lunch is provided at one of the many local eateries serving traditional fair: tamales, empanadas, arepas, and beans. Next, we take a walking tour of the town, after which we will take the short ride out to see the suspension bridge over the Cauca River, another National Monument.
Of course, you will have free time to explore, maybe pop into one of the museums or the town cathedral before we hit the road back to Medellin in the late afternoon.
This tour is perfect for visitors that want a quick day trip from Medellin to see one of Colombia’s best preserved historical sites. Get a taste of the Andes, and a glimpse of an earlier time, but be warned: You may not want to return to the big city!

IS COLOMBIA SAFE?

ITINERARY
Medellin to Sante Fe de Antioquia (58 km)
Set off on the road north out of Medellin, through Andean hills dense with jungle and coffee plantations. Approach Santa Fe from the south, riding past hillside vineyards and natural waterfalls seemingly made to be photographed.
Arrive in the town, and feel transported to an earlier time, when this place was a small gold-mining outpost. Lunch on tamales, steamed in banana leaves, and filled with your choice of meats, cheese, and vegetables. And, perhaps try the local delicacy of tamarind candy for dessert!
Next, ride out of town to the nearby Puente de Occidente, a wood and steel suspension bridge built in 1887, which spans the Cauca River. Walk across the bridge as the water rushes beneath you and observe the panorama of rolling green hills all around.
Finally, if you can tear yourself away from the quaint and peaceful village, we head back south to Medellin with camera rolls full of memorable moments.
