A three day motorcycle tour through the Colombian Andes — coffee hills, colonial towns, and a canyon bridge that'll test your nerve. Ride into the UNESCO Coffee Cultural Landscape, stop in the hat-making town of Aguadas, and spend a night in a historic 1860 colonial mansion on Salamina's main square beside the iconic French fountain. Day two drops south into Antioquia's backroads to Jericó, a hillside village at 1,950m with colorful streets, mountain views, and one of the best boutique hotels in the region. Day three brings the Viaducto de Amagá — a century-old abandoned rail trestle, no handrails, 40 meters above a canyon. Then back to Medellín.

3-Day Colombia Motorcycle Tour Coffee Region
Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Medellín → Aguadas → Salamina
Distance: 187km | Ride Time: 5.5 hours
Ride out of Medellín into the green coffee mountains of the Andes — quiet backroads, sweeping valley views, and classic coffee landscapes.
Stop in Aguadas, inside Colombia's UNESCO Coffee Cultural Landscape, for a tinto in the colonial plaza. Then push along the ridgelines to Salamina, one of the most beautiful heritage towns in the region.
Check into a historic 1860 colonial boutique hotel on the main square. Relax by the famous French fountain and settle into the Paisa atmosphere — and if you're hungry, track down a proper bandeja paisa: rice, beans, chicharrón, ground beef, sausage, egg, morcilla, avocado, plantain, and arepa. On an oval plate. Non-negotiable.
Day 2: Salamina → Aguadas → Jericó
Distance: 147km | Ride Time: 5.5 hours
Ride back through Aguadas and take time to explore properly. The town sits inside Colombia's UNESCO Coffee Cultural Landscape and is famous for its hand-woven Aguadeño hat, the traditional Colombian sombrero aguadeño that locals have been crafting here for generations. Stroll the colonial plaza, pick up a hat if you're feeling it, and grab a coffee before pushing south.
From Aguadas the road drops into Antioquia's lesser-known backroads toward Jericó featuring quieter riding, fewer tourists, and the kind of scenery that doesn't make it onto postcards but probably should.
Perched at 1,950m, Jericó is a colonial hillside village rarely visited by tourists but beloved by Colombians. Wander the colorful streets, browse its small museums, and climb to the Cristo Redentor, a 10-meter hilltop Christ with panoramic views across the Cauca valley, especially stunning at sunset.
Stay at Hotel Santa Laura, a well-regarded boutique hotel a short walk from the main square. Book a back room and you'll wake up to mountain views across the Andes. Common areas are relaxed and comfortable. Good for unwinding after a full day in the saddle. One of the better places to stay in the Coffee Region.
Day 3: Jericó → Amagá Bridge → Medellín
Distance: 120km | Ride Time: 3.5 hours
Descend from Jericó with a stop at El Mirador de las Olas with outstanding views across the Cauca valley toward Concordia, cold beers, and fresh chorizo.
Then: the Viaducto de Amagá. A century-old, 60-meter-long, 40-meter-high abandoned rail trestle outside the mining town of Amagá, 45 minutes south of Medellín. The original rails are gone. What's left is a roughly 10-inch path across steel and timber over a deep canyon, with no handrails. Hikers, mountain bikers, and motorcycle riders cross it. You decide how brave you're feeling.
Ride back to Medellín.
