1. Hotel Pickup & Departure
Your day begins with a private taxi pickup (not included) at 8:00 AM from your hotel in Medellín. You’ll be brought to our office where your bike, gear, and guide will be waiting.
By 9:00 AM, we leave the city and ride into the quiet hills north of Medellín as traffic fades and open landscapes appear.

 

2. Visit Santa Fe de Antioquia & Cross the Famous Bridge

Descend toward the warm lowlands and arrive in Santa Fe de Antioquia, one of the region’s oldest and most historic colonial towns. With whitewashed buildings, cobblestone streets, and leafy plazas, it feels like stepping back in time.

Just outside town, we cross the famous Puente Colgante de Occidente, a 19th-century suspension bridge that spans the Cauca River. Once considered an engineering marvel in South America, the narrow wooden bridge still carries motorcycles, cars, and pedestrians across the river. After the crossing, the road begins climbing again into the surrounding mountains.

 

3. Climb to the “Top of the World”
The ride climbs from about 500 meters to over 2,800 meters through cloud forest.
Pavement disappears, replaced by gravel switchbacks, mountain streams, and ridgelines with sweeping valley views.

Ride by coffee farms and see hillsides completely covered with coffee bushes. 
At the summit, we stop at a dramatic lookout over the Cauca Valley. The road is fully unpaved but non-technical and used mainly by remote 4x4 traffic.

 

4. Lunch in a Highland Village
We stop in a small mountain village for a traditional Colombian lunch.
Expect grilled meats, rice, beans, plantains, fresh juice, and strong local coffee.
Meals are not included but are affordable (about $7–10 USD).

5. San Pedro De Los Milagros

Visit the traditional highland town of San Pedro de los Milagros. Here, we pause in the main square to visit the impressive Basílica del Señor de los Milagros, one of the most important pilgrimage churches in Antioquia. It’s a chance to stretch your legs, take a few photos, and experience small-town life before continuing on.

6. Return to Medellín
In the afternoon, we take a paved route back to our office. You’ll return to our base around 5:00 PM, followed by a private taxi back to your hotel.
