⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
"My brother and I decided to do a solo tour. Jeff and his team did a fantastic job preparing the bikes and teaching us the different aspects of the trip. We rented 2 Honda XRE 300. Awesome bikes, perfect for the Colombian mountains and trails. We are planning on riding again, different route but we know now where to get the bikes." - Rodrigo Campos

Why Riders Choose the XRE300 for Colombia
Colombia rewards motorcyclists who pick the right tool for the job. The XRE300 was designed — and has been proven in service — for exactly the kind of varied terrain you'll encounter here.
Here's why it's our most popular rental and our top recommendation:
Built Light, Built Tough. At just 153 kg, the XRE300 is light enough to lift solo, maneuver through tight switchbacks, and recover from a tip-over without drama. That matters when you're two hours from the nearest town on a muddy track. A lighter bike also means less fatigue over long days in the saddle — exactly what you want on a multi-day Colombia motorcycle tour through the Andes.
Air-Cooled Simplicity. Forget cracked radiators, failing thermostats, and coolant hoses leaking on a remote jungle road. The XRE300's air-cooled, fuel-injected 300cc engine has fewer components to fail, is cheaper to repair, and has been proven reliable at altitude, in heat, and in humidity across Colombia's wildly varied climates. It's one less thing to worry about on a two-week motorcycle rental in South America.
Long-Travel Suspension That Actually Works. The XRE300 has 22.5% more suspension travel than the Royal Enfield Himalayan. At highway speed, rough pavement and unexpected dips simply disappear beneath you. On dirt, it soaks up rocks, ruts, and potholes with ease.
Trusted by the Military. The Colombian National Police and the Brazilian military chose this bike for operations in Colombia's most challenging terrain. That's not a marketing claim — it's a procurement decision based on reliability, parts availability, and performance under real-world stress.
Mechanic-Owned Fleet. Our bikes are maintained in-house by certified technicians who are also riders. There are no third-party rentals in our fleet, no cut corners, and no surprises. When you pick up the bike, it's ready to ride — not just ready to look good in the parking lot.

What Riders Are Saying
"Rented XRE300s with friends for 2 weeks and put over 1,000 km on them. Bikes are well maintained and ready to handle whatever you throw at them. Jeff is friendly, honest, super helpful, and easy to communicate with." — Eric Mueller
"The Honda XRE300 was a fantastic machine for our 5-day ride — smooth, capable, and reliable." — Tyler Klassen
Seat Height & Range: The Practical Details
Two of the most common questions we get from riders looking to rent a motorcycle in Medellín:
Seat Height — 860 mm (34"): This is a comfortable, mid-range seat height that fits most riders between 5'5" and 6'3". You don't need to flat-foot it — adventure riding is done on the balls of your feet, and the XRE300's narrow frame makes it easy to get a foot down confidently at stops. If you're a shorter rider, let us know — we're happy to talk through fit.
Range Per Tank — 300 to 325 km: The XRE300 carries 13.8 liters of fuel and returns excellent economy for a dual-sport, typically in the range of 22–25 km/liter depending on terrain and load. That translates to a comfortable 300–350 km of range per tank — enough to get you between towns across most of Colombia's route network without range anxiety. Fuel is widely available in all towns on our recommended routes.
More Suspension Travel Than the Himalayan
The XRE300 delivers 245 mm of front fork travel and 225 mm of rear shock travel, giving it a full 22.5% more suspension stroke than the Royal Enfield Himalayan — and 20% more ground clearance at 259 mm. On Colombia's back roads, that difference is something you feel on every kilometer. Dips and road breaks that rattle lesser bikes simply disappear. The 21" front wheel rolls over obstacles that stop 19" and 17" wheels cold.
Is Colombia Safe to Ride?
Yes — and the numbers back it up. Colombia welcomed a record 5.9 million international visitors in 2023, and that number continues to grow. We've hosted hundreds of riders from over 30 countries on Colombia motorcycle tours and self-guided expeditions across Colombia with zero security incidents on our routes.
Our routes are planned around welcoming towns, scenic backroads, and the most beautiful riding regions Colombia has to offer: the UNESCO Coffee Region, the high-altitude páramo, the Magdalena River valley, and the Andean colonial route south of Medellín.
"If you want to find bad people in Colombia, you can surely find them... But nowhere have my crew and I been treated better." — Anthony Bourdain
